Over a number of years, as a regular David Lloyd Gym goer, my insignificant hernia, became noticeably more prominent and painful and by late January 2016, I suffered from persistent symptoms of indigestion, heartburn and felt generally unwell.
In late January 2016, I requested a referral to Ms Patricia Boorman.

My initial consultation was arranged promptly through Ms Boorman’s Clinic within a matter of a few days.

Ms Boorman was particularly easy to talk to. I felt instantly at ease and following a brief examination she was able to confirm exactly the extent of my medical condition and detailed the procedure that would be required to rectify it.

Her explanations were very clear and concise for the procedure, the period immediately after the operation and for the period of recovery.
We discussed in detail, an event which I had been planning for over eight months and asked if she felt that it would be possible to have the operation and to suitably recover in time for this event to happen.

In her very professional but personable manner, she explained that if I was to follow her guidance meticulously for both the prescribed period of rest and the period of rehabilitation, limiting my exercise to that which she would set out, then there would be every chance that I would return to fitness in time for my planned event.

Ms Boorman carried out my procedure at the Nuffield Hospital Exeter within 10 days of my initial consultation. All of her arrangements happened seamlessly.

We met with Ms Boorman prior to my procedure and she ensured that there was nothing concerning me, regarding the procedure.

I remember talking to her again briefly during my time in recovery.

My operation has been a great success. I no longer suffer from any of the adverse symptoms which I had tolerated for far too long.

Whilst my follow-up consultation occurred some eight weeks after the procedure, Ms Boorman enquired as to my well-being on every occasion that we met. Such is her nature.

I followed her prescribed periods of rest, limited my exercise as she advised (and kept a watchful eye) and recovered, without complication, in good time.

It has been a pleasure to be under the medical care of Ms Boorman who has been highly professional yet so caring and approachable from the date of my initial consultation throughout the procedure and my return to good health.
